During this time of crisis, the whole world is dealing with significant disruption to every aspect of life — especially work life. It’s challenging to get a normal day’s work done when everything is shut down. Yet, the silver lining to our current – very difficult and anxiety-provoking – situation is that it is forcing us to innovate for the positive. We are trying new things, engaging in new ways, inventing and reconfiguring to adapt and succeed.

One area of change and progress that will likely stay with us even after the pandemic, is our approach to learning and training. With the vast majority of states under a stay-at-home order due to the coronavirus, schools and universities have taken their classes online and are successfully providing educational curriculum to their students outside the classroom setting. Similarly, we here at TSS, Inc. The Safety Specialists have turned to e-learning as a safe and effective alternative to in-person training.

Through our webinars and interactive online training courses, we offer a wide range of options that can help you reach your professional development or safety learning goals. These include DOT and OSHA-related safety trainings as well as courses about home safety or those geared to keeping you secure behind the wheel. Currently, TSS is also featuring an on-demand webinar “Corona Conversations: Getting Back to Work” focused on helping businesses reopen safely and navigate many of the restrictions in this changing environment.

In March we introduced blended learning as an alternative to our traditional, highly-rated CPR & First Aid Course. Blended Learning allows participants to complete the classroom portion of a course online and then schedule a hands-on evaluation with one of our experienced instructors either virtually or in-person. (If you are unable to come to a TSS office for your evaluation, please contact us prior to registering as we have other options that may work for you.)

While safety during a health crisis has been the priority of expanding distance learning, other advantages signal this will be a solution for many in the future. Studying from the comfort of your own home — or anywhere with internet access — allows for great flexibility. You can learn what you want when you want to without worry about getting dressed up and traveling to a classroom. At the same time, setting your own schedule and learning at your own pace also help develop self-discipline. Unlike in-person learning, you’re in full control of how little or how much you learn at a time. This is incredibly beneficial for building time-management skills for future career opportunities.

To meet rising demand for distance learning, TSS is constantly expanding its library of e-training in different subject areas including:

  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Job Hazard Analysis

If you are interested in any of these topics, please contact us at info@tss-safety.com to let us know so that we can make trainings live and available to you.

While the coronavirus has put a hold on many parts of life, don’t allow it to limit your education. By signing up for a TSS online training, blended learning course or webinars, you still have the opportunity to grow your knowledge and skills for your current job or new career opportunities, through safe and flexible options. Check out our website at tss-safety.com unter the Training tab for details and to register for any of our online courses.
